Responsibilities
- Own ambiguous technical challenges from design through production operation.
- Build scalable and compliant backend serving capabilities integrated with Zalando’s microservices architecture.
- Develop customer-facing web and mobile features for Boards’ inspiration, curation, and connection experiences.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, stakeholders, and Applied Science teams to shape technical roadmaps.
- Support product experimentation through A/B testing frameworks.
- Improve engineering quality, technical debt, CI/CD, testing, system performance, monitoring, and observability.
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members and promote software-design best practices.
Requirements
- Highly proficient experience developing large-scale applications with TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and Node.js.
- Robust experience with React and a deep understanding of GraphQL and REST architectural styles.
- Proven experience building backend microservices, robust API endpoints, and working with DynamoDB, Kotlin, and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Practical knowledge of frontend monitoring, performance optimization, and observability tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to critical feedback.
