Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Drive solution design, architecture decisions, engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement.
- Design and build robust microservices, distributed backend services, and REST APIs for enterprise applications.
- Lead features and technical initiatives from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.
- Mentor developers through technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Ensure backend solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, maintainable, and performance-focused.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Mobile, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, production issues, and performance bottlenecks.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Java backend development, including experience leading technical teams or complex engineering initiatives.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed backend services.
- Proven ability to drive technical design and architecture decisions for enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, clean coding, and secure coding practices.
- Experience building scalable, reliable, enterprise-grade applications.
- Ability to mentor engineers and maintain high engineering standards across the team.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Preferred experience in Payments or FinTech, including payment processing and integrations.
- Preferred experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging and event-driven technologies.
- Preferred knowledge of relational databases, SQL, JPA/Hibernate, and database performance optimization.
- Preferred experience with Spring Security and application security practices.
- Preferred exposure to cloud platforms, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and code quality tools.
- Preferred experience building backend services and APIs supporting Android and iOS mobile applications.
