Staff Software Engineer- IQ Grow
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, scalable, reliable, and secure solutions for restaurant guest experiences.
- Define and execute technical architecture for AI agents in Marketing and Demand Generation.
- Write code, prototype new patterns, and resolve complex technical bottlenecks under load.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, Principal Engineers, and Senior Principal Engineers on technical practices and agent patterns.
- Ship features end-to-end from design through rollout, monitoring results and iterating based on real-world use.
- Mentor and elevate engineers through design reviews, constructive feedback, and agent-assisted engineering practices.
- Use AI development tools to improve engineering workflow, velocity, and productivity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend or full-stack experience delivering impactful products.
- Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications and work across the stack when needed.
- Strong enthusiasm for agentic development practices, LLM integration, and modern software paradigms.
- Strong software development fundamentals, including code quality, unit testing, and clean code.
- Ability to design high-level technical solutions while remaining connected to code-level execution and system performance.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with engineers, product teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, incremental delivery, feedback, and evolving technical workflows with AI tooling.
