Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define multi-year technical strategy, architecture, roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes for globally distributed Dataverse database services.
- Own critical technical areas from problem definition and architecture through implementation, deployment, operational health, and long-term evolution.
- Lead complex initiatives across database, service, infrastructure, security, and compliance domains.
- Establish practices for validation, safe deployment and rollback, observability, capacity management, incident response, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers, review architecture and code, define reusable patterns, and raise engineering quality and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience architecting and delivering large-scale production cloud services with technical leadership across multiple teams and complex dependencies.
- Experience with SQL and enterprise-grade relational databases, including administration, query and workload optimization, capacity management, reliability engineering, and fleet-scale automation.
- Experience designing, building, and troubleshooting scalable resilient event-driven systems with asynchronous processing, failure recovery, observability, controlled flighting, and resource optimization.
- Ability to set technical direction, build alignment, influence architecture without direct authority, and diagnose cross-service failures using logs, telemetry, correlation IDs, and distributed traces.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is $142,800–$274,800 per year, with a different range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
