Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM i/AS400 platforms.
- Enhance and support existing enterprise applications using RPG, RPGLE, CL, and IBM i SQL.
- Understand, maintain, and modify Synon2/E (COOL 2/E) application components.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into practical client-environment solutions.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Collaborate with business users, developers, analysts, support teams, and project leads.
- Support incident, change, and problem management activities.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, development best practices, and application reliability improvements.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
Requirements
- Strong experience in IBM i/AS400 application development.
- Strong hands-on proficiency with RPG/RPGLE.
- Experience with CL and IBM i SQL.
- Working knowledge of Synon2/E (COOL 2/E).
- Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing client enterprise applications.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in production support environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders and manage competing development, maintenance, and support priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Preferred qualifications include healthcare experience, RxClaim or PBM adjudication systems experience, technical leadership or mentoring experience, IBM i modernization or integration exposure, and familiarity with Java, Python, Angular, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
