Responsibilities
- Design and implement new payment capabilities aligned with the product roadmap.
- Build REST services and integration components for a backend microservices architecture.
- Contribute to Payment Acceptance infrastructure serving merchant needs across international markets.
- Conduct architectural reviews for current and upcoming solutions.
- Address technical debt and improve operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the payments product team and occasionally with partners’ engineering teams.
- Deliver thoroughly tested, high-quality solutions from concept through implementation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of contemporary software engineering experience with an emphasis on continuous integration and quality engineering.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and recent experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring or Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs for high-volume distributed systems.
- Experience with Kafka event streams and distributed data storage systems such as Cassandra, Hazelcast, Oracle Coherence, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS and exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with operational tooling such as New Relic, StatsD, ELK, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Preferred: extensive experience developing payment gateways, acquiring platforms, or issuing platforms.
- Preferred: experience integrating local payment methods such as iDeal, Klarna, and Trustly, or major card networks such as Visa and Mastercard.
