Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and deploy scalable backend services and event-driven microservices in Java and Go.
- Lead technical direction, architectural vision, service-domain roadmaps, and complex distributed-systems initiatives.
- Optimize database queries, event-streaming pipelines, latency, and service scalability for high transaction volumes.
- Establish unit and integration test coverage, coding guardrails, design patterns, and engineering best practices across teams.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and lead constructive peer code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Management, architecture, technical leads, and services teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in the engineering on-call rotation, diagnose production escalations, and support platform reliability.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools and review, validate, and take ownership of AI-generated code.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise-grade software products.
- 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience, including leading engineering initiatives and setting technical direction.
- Hands-on professional experience developing scalable services in Go.
- 2+ years of experience architecting and developing web applications and microservices in a high-scale, distributed cloud environment.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Hibernate or other ORM frameworks.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures using messaging systems and queues such as Apache Kafka and Redis.
- Strong experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud platforms.
- Experience with scalable distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and high-throughput services.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and cross-functional alignment skills.
- Comfort with prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-generated code.
- Experience with or familiarity with Cursor, Claude Code, Python-based AI/ML libraries, PyTorch, and LLM or foundation-model platforms is relevant to the role.
