Base Salary
$175k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain production AI agents from prototype through production.
- Prototype agent architectures, prompting strategies, tool integrations, and evaluation frameworks with science and engineering teams.
- Develop reusable agent skills, tool-use pipelines, benchmarks, and other infrastructure that improves the platform.
- Spend approximately 30% of the role with R&D partners to understand workflows, test systems, and incorporate field insights.
- Translate research and field insights into product direction and help prioritize future development.
Requirements
- Typically 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems used by real users.
- Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, and evaluation frameworks.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript and ability to learn new tools and frameworks quickly.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, science, and product teams and work effectively in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.
- Preferred experience includes life sciences, biomedical research, scientific computing, technical R&D workflows, AI agent systems, tool-use pipelines, evaluation or benchmarking frameworks, and open-source scientific or AI tooling.
