Base Salary
$80k - $120k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and maintain high-load real-time web services for recommendations.
- Build, deploy, and support I/O-bound web services, CPU-bound services, and data services.
- Write AWS CloudFormation scripts, Jenkins jobs, and GitHub Actions workflows.
- Set up observability, monitoring metrics, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and separate stability testing for recommendation services.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical partners to develop and update recommendation functionality.
- Communicate with stakeholders within and outside the team.
Requirements
- Strong computer science background and familiarity with networking principles.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-load real-time services.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Hands-on experience setting up and improving CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python; Go or Rust experience is a plus.
- Experience with server-side web-service coding and API design principles.
- Experience setting up and managing Prometheus and Grafana and integrating alert systems such as PagerDuty.
- Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and communication protocols such as protobuf.
- Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, distributed systems, and caching solutions.
- Experience with at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent English communication skills.
