Base Salary
$180k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build reliable APIs, backend services, and document-processing workflows for legal research, drafting, review, and finished work.
- Deliver core product features from technical design through release and iteration in collaboration with engineers and legal experts.
- Integrate AI capabilities into practical production workflows with a focus on quality, speed, and dependable behavior.
- Improve user interfaces for complex document tasks and work across the stack.
- Translate user needs into engineering plans and communicate technical tradeoffs.
- Improve performance, investigate production issues, and strengthen testing, monitoring, and code quality.
Requirements
- Experience shipping and maintaining production web applications or services with strong software design fundamentals.
- Strong programming skills in a modern language such as Python or TypeScript.
- Experience with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, or distributed backend systems, including building reliable APIs and services.
- Experience with document-processing workflows and integrating AI or LLM capabilities into production systems.
- Practical experience with testing, code review, debugging, and improving systems after launch.
- Clear written communication, ownership, and ability to collaborate with a distributed cross-functional team.
- Frontend development, complex data or security needs, legal technology, workflow automation, or related experience is useful.
Benefits
- Annual base salary of $180,000 to $250,000 USD, depending on skills, experience, and role scope.
- Substantial ownership and direct input into product decisions.
