Responsibilities
- Define and drive multi-year architecture roadmaps for data ingestion and processing infrastructure.
- Own end-to-end platform initiatives from design to production rollout.
- Partner with vendors for technical integration and infrastructure investment decisions.
- Embed governance and compliance controls into platform architecture.
- Optimize infrastructure spend and manage multi-million dollar budgets.
- Write architecture documents and proposals to align with stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers and foster a strong engineering culture.
- Collaborate with various teams to meet evolving platform needs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on data infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Experience with modern data lakehouse architectures and open table formats.
- Hands-on experience with distributed query and compute systems.
- Proven depth in event-driven infrastructure using Kafka and Flink.
- Track record of executing major platform transitions under production constraints.
- Experience building business cases for infrastructure investments.
- Exceptional written technical communication skills.
- Strong ownership and ability to drive large initiatives in ambiguity.
