Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end integration architectures on Microsoft Azure across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Define integration patterns, architecture reference models, solution blueprints, technical standards, and build-versus-buy recommendations.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical oversight to development teams and conduct architecture and design reviews.
- Define API design guidelines covering versioning, security, throttling, and documentation.
- Lead proofs of concept and pilots to validate architectural decisions.
- Establish integration governance standards for naming, error handling, logging, monitoring, security, and compliance.
- Own the integration platform roadmap and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Present architecture proposals and trade-off analyses to senior leadership and technical review boards.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Azure integration topics and support pre-sales, RFPs, and vendor evaluations.
- Define observability strategies and identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Track the Azure roadmap and incorporate relevant integration innovations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software or enterprise architecture focused on integration.
- Deep expertise in Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Data Factory.
- Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, EDI, gRPC, pub/sub, and event-streaming integration patterns.
- Experience with hybrid integration using On-Premises Data Gateway or Azure Arc.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code using Bicep or Terraform.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline design for integration workloads.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory, Managed Identities, OAuth 2.0, and JWT.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and API-first approaches.
- Preferred: Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or relevant Azure Integration Services certification, including AZ-204.
- Preferred: experience with MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Azure API Center, SAP, Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Apache Kafka, or regulated industries.
