Lead Software Engineer
Capital OneResponsibilities
- Design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack technical solutions across Agile teams.
- Direct multifaceted technology initiatives involving full-stack architectures, distributed microservices, and observability frameworks.
- Partner with product and design teams to develop and integrate advanced platform features.
- Use programming languages, open-source technologies, relational and NoSQL databases, containers, and AWS services with a focus on serverless initiatives.
- Debug and resolve issues across backend, frontend, middleware, infrastructure, databases, pipelines, and distributed production environments.
- Identify root causes, implement fixes, correct affected data, and develop features with minimal direction.
- Mentor engineering community members and participate in internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience, excluding internship experience.
- At least 8 years of experience building backend services with technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, Node, Scala, TypeScript, or Spring Boot.
- At least 6 years of experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
- At least 4 years of experience designing, building, and testing distributed systems with comprehensive observability.
- At least 2 years of experience with frontend languages and UI frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Vue, or React.
- At least 4 years of experience developing and deploying ML platform solutions on AWS.
- At least 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects.
- Preferred: experience with Agile or Kanban, cloud providers, server-side frameworks, MLOps, production-scale platforms, responsible AI, generative AI applications, LLMs, LangChain, Haystack, and vector databases.
