Responsibilities
- Lead design discussions for APIs, databases, caching layers, messaging, resilience, and observability.
- Design end-to-end architecture for financial services applications in collaboration with product owners and technical teams.
- Analyze trade-offs and propose scalable, maintainable, secure solutions aligned with business goals.
- Lead AWS engineering efforts and evaluate new software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proofs of concept.
- Develop architecture and best practices for cloud-based data lakes and real-time or near-real-time ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Design cloud-native applications using AWS services, serverless workflows, and modern architecture practices.
- Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
- Maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, reusable design decisions, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate technical decisions with cross-functional teams.
- Support off-hours incident response when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
- Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
- Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures and containers such as EKS and ECS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects and communicating complex technical decisions.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and delivering hands-on proofs of concept is preferred.
- Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
