Sr. Lead Software Engineer - Java/ Python
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish measurable standards for validating AI-assisted outputs, secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and approved AI-assisted automation capabilities to improve engineering automation at scale.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and strong AWS cloud experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Preferred: experience with messaging systems, Docker and containerization, CI/CD tools, secure coding, test-driven development, automated testing frameworks, and modern API design patterns.
