Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
  • Establish measurable standards for validating AI-assisted outputs, secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
  • Use software development lifecycle tools and approved AI-assisted automation capabilities to improve engineering automation at scale.
  • Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and strong AWS cloud experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Preferred: experience with messaging systems, Docker and containerization, CI/CD tools, secure coding, test-driven development, automated testing frameworks, and modern API design patterns.
