Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, codes, debugs, and troubleshoots secure, stable, and scalable software components and machine learning platforms.
  • Develops high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by other engineers.
  • Leads adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools for code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
  • Establishes standards for validating AI-assisted outputs for correctness, performance, security, and responsible use.
  • Coaches engineers on secure, compliant AI-assisted development practices, including data sensitivity and secure input/output handling.
  • Identifies and automates remediation of recurring issues to improve application and system stability.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectures, technical capabilities, and fit with existing systems.
  • Analyzes large and diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure and stable application development.
  • Considers upstream and downstream system dependencies and technical implications when delivering solutions.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning platforms or infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Python and one or more ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with data processing frameworks and tools such as Spark, Pandas, and SQL.
  • Practical experience with cloud-based ML platforms such as AWS SageMaker, GCP AI Platform, or Azure ML, or with on-premises ML infrastructure.
  • Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, secure handling of data and inputs/outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
  • Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and practical cloud-native experience.
  • Advanced understanding of application resiliency, security, and software delivery practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
  • Preferred experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Snorkel AI, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Terraform, CloudFormation, feature stores, model registries, ML metadata management, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
