Responsibilities
- Advise customers on Azure Data Platform solutions and lead technical workshops, architecture discussions, and design reviews.
- Define modernization and migration strategies and support proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production deployments.
- Design and implement enterprise-scale data architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses, analytics solutions, and hybrid cloud platforms.
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, ETL, and real-time processing pipelines.
- Migrate on-premises databases and analytics workloads to Azure and modernize legacy ETL and reporting platforms.
- Implement governance, security, privacy, compliance, retention, metadata, lineage, access control, and data protection mechanisms.
- Monitor platform performance, reliability, and cost, and implement DevOps, automation, and CI/CD practices for data workloads.
- Deliver customer enablement sessions, document architectures and operational runbooks, and mentor customer teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience is required.
- Strong 300–400-level expertise with Azure Data Platform services, data storage, integration and ETL, analytics and processing, data warehousing, streaming, databases, programming, governance and security, and reporting and visualization.
- Expertise with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Microsoft Fabric OneLake, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric Data Pipelines, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering, Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse, Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake.
- Experience with dimensional modeling, data mart design, data warehouse architecture, star and snowflake schema design, SQL Server, T-SQL, query optimization, performance tuning, and high availability and disaster recovery.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark; Scala and PowerShell are preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, data lineage, data catalogs, data classification, RBAC, data encryption, compliance and regulatory controls, Power BI, Fabric Semantic Models, report development, and dashboard design.
- Desired skills include data lakehouse architecture, data mesh concepts, AI and machine learning data preparation, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Ability to work directly with enterprise customers and collaborate with architects, data engineers, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders.
