Staff Software Engineer (Java) - Data Ingest
SentinelOneResponsibilities
- Scale, improve the reliability and observability of, and optimize the cost of high-volume data pipelines.
- Carry loosely defined problems from proposal and technical specification through production rollout.
- Plan and execute deprecation projects for legacy pipeline solutions serving live customers.
- Contribute to technical forums, roadmap development, and practical solutions for specialized engineering problems.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for the data pipeline.
- Use AI tooling to improve engineering efficiency.
Requirements
- Several years of successfully designing and implementing high-scale distributed systems in production.
- Hands-on experience building ingestion pipelines and solving high-volume streaming and scaling challenges.
- Large-scale experience with Kafka or a similar technology.
- Strong modern Java development skills and flexibility to learn and use other tools such as Go and Python.
- Understanding of technology trade-offs, operational costs, and approaches for keeping systems stable and scalable.
- Ability to collaborate through design discussions, code review, and cross-team technical trade-offs.
