Responsibilities
- Build and evolve full-stack RUM features across frontend experiences, backend services, APIs, and storage systems.
- Design systems that ingest, store, and query high-cardinality, high-volume telemetry using columnar and analytical databases.
- Develop performant query layers and APIs for real-time exploration of sessions, traces, and events.
- Build frontend applications and data-heavy interfaces that visualize RUM data and support performance debugging.
- Develop data models, indexing strategies, and query optimizations for low-latency, cost-efficient analytics.
- Collaborate with browser and mobile SDK engineers on data ingestion and schema evolution.
- Own projects from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Maintain software quality through testing, system observability, documentation, and smooth upgrade paths.
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering teams and contribute to technical discussions and the RUM roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong frontend fundamentals.
- Frontend experience with TypeScript and React; backend experience with Go is preferred.
- Experience building or operating distributed systems in production, such as Kafka, WarpStream, Apache Pinot, ClickHouse, Cassandra, or Postgres.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Experience handling high-throughput, high-cardinality logs, metrics, traces, or events.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, query optimization, performance tradeoffs, APIs, and distributed services.
- Experience building data-heavy UIs such as dashboards, query tools, or debugging interfaces.
- Familiarity with observability concepts and/or OpenTelemetry.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote, distributed team.
- Bonus qualifications include browser or mobile instrumentation, iOS or Android development, OpenTelemetry contributions, developer-facing platforms, session replay, sampling strategies, or user behavior analytics systems.
