Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize DSP algorithms for OFDM-based modems, including modulation, demodulation, synchronization, channel estimation, equalization, FFT/IFFT processing, and error detection and correction.
- Translate communication-system requirements into production-quality DSP software and debug issues across DSP, firmware, RF, and hardware boundaries.
- Analyze lab and field data to identify performance, stability, and interoperability root causes and support product bring-up, validation, and maintenance.
- Optimize embedded implementations for MIPS, CPU throughput, memory footprint, cache efficiency, fixed-point arithmetic, power consumption, and real-time constraints.
- Lead architecture decisions and trade-offs for scalable OFDM-based communication systems across multiple platform variants.
- Establish and technically lead a DSP engineering team in India through mentoring, coding standards, performance guidelines, design reviews, and development workflows.
- Collaborate with RF, hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Communications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in DSP and communication-system development.
- Deep expertise in OFDM modem design, including synchronization, channel estimation, equalization, and decoding.
- Strong background in digital and analog communication theory.
- Demonstrated experience optimizing code for MIPS and memory-constrained embedded systems.
- Proficiency with MATLAB and Python and experience transitioning algorithms into embedded or real-time implementations.
- Proven ability to debug complex cross-domain issues in commercial products.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with or leading geographically distributed teams.
- Experience with fixed-point DSP implementations, embedded software on CPUs, DSPs, or SoCs, and real-time operating constraints is desired.
- Experience using RF lab equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and SDRs is desired.
- Prior mentoring or leadership of offshore or distributed engineering teams and end-to-end product development experience are desired.
