Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement Java software for derivatives valuation, trading risk, and enterprise market risk applications.
- Migrate applications to a new cloud environment and build or refactor legacy applications.
- Influence architectural direction and lead development of crucial software components.
- Help evolve systems from batch-oriented end-of-day processing toward intraday processing.
- Develop Spring Boot microservices and integrate with REST APIs and gRPC endpoints.
- Improve scalability, latency, automation, productivity, and software development practices.
- Inspire and mentor team members and collaborate with project managers, business sponsors, and global technical teams.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
- 5–7+ years of Java experience.
- Experience with the Spring technology stack and building microservices using Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and gRPC endpoints.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka; ZeroMQ and Google ProtoBuf are advantageous.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Parquet, or similar big data technologies.
- Experience with relational database management systems and demonstrable fluency in SQL.
- Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, and Agile environments.
- Strong understanding of clean coding practices and experience with scalable, low-latency systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced global environment.
- Knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives and cross-asset products, is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with market risk, trade valuations, FRTB, VaR, and stress testing processes is a strong plus.
