Base Salary
$220k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design high-throughput services that handle concurrent conversations at scale.
- Own a core platform service from design through production.
- Build systems that remain available and degrade gracefully when failures occur.
- Handle sensitive healthcare data appropriately.
- Improve performance, observability, and operational health across services.
- Shape architectural decisions as the platform grows.
- Reason carefully about system design under time pressure.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production backend systems at scale and owning their outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of concurrency, distributed systems, and service design.
- Ability to develop simple, maintainable solutions to difficult problems.
- Strong debugging skills across services, queues, and databases.
- Ability to work onsite in New York City or San Francisco.
- Preferred experience in regulated or high-reliability domains such as healthcare, finance, or legal.
- Preferred experience with high-throughput or low-latency system design.
- Preferred experience with production AI or ML systems.
