Responsibilities

  • Work on multi-team technical initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities, refine requirements, and prioritize engineering systems.
  • Architect and implement complex, scalable payment platform features with a focus on data-driven decisions and performance optimization.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of high-scale, cross-functional payment systems.
  • Drive systemic improvements that streamline development, reduce toil, and improve technical quality and operational excellence.
  • Set technical direction and strategy while driving alignment across teams, departments, and leadership.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers through design reviews, code walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role.
  • Experience leading the design, implementation, and deployment of one or more high-scale, cross-functional payment systems.
  • Hands-on experience leading project teams, setting technical direction and strategy, and mentoring engineers.
  • Proven experience defining product or technical strategy and driving alignment with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams, departments, and leadership.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of relevant payments or fintech industry experience as a backend software engineer is a plus.
