Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement custom software and database application capabilities for legacy and modernized systems with limited oversight.
- Collaborate with software developers, engineers, stakeholders, and end users within product teams and Agile processes.
- Participate in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and solution releases.
- Analyze complex project problems and create innovative solutions involving schedules, technologies, methodologies, tools, and solution components.
- Improve supported products, ensure quality and timeliness, resolve problems, and provide periodic performance reports.
- Develop and refine software engineering guidelines and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related technical experience in software design, development, and implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of the degree.
- Experience with Java 8 and 11 and familiarity with JDBC, Hibernate or another ORM, JavaScript, XML, JSON, web services, JBoss, Eclipse or VS Code, Docker/containerization, Maven, JUnit, and shell scripting.
- Expertise in object-oriented design and development, with knowledge of service-oriented architecture, microservices, and distributed architectures.
- Experience with Git, concurrent development workflows, SQL or PL/SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience using Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB and understanding of database design and relational schemas.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management.
- Ability to work independently on complex problems, estimate software development efforts, assist with software engineering tools, and communicate effectively.
- U.S. citizenship and an active IRS MBI clearance are required.
