Responsibilities

  • Define and implement solution architecture for high-volume, resilient systems.
  • Design, develop, debug, and test object-oriented Java/J2EE code and RESTful APIs using JSON over HTTPS.
  • Build cloud-native services using 12-Factor principles and messaging and integration platforms including Kafka, MQ, and ESB.
  • Collaborate with product managers, clients, and engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum delivery model.
  • Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices for repeatable, secure deployments.
  • Design, tune, and optimize relational and non-relational databases.
  • Apply design patterns and algorithms to improve reliability, maintainability, readability, performance, and testability.
  • Troubleshoot and operate within complex IT environments involving networking, security, and performance considerations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of recent experience delivering resilient, high-volume solutions as part of Java/J2EE engineering teams.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience building RESTful APIs with JSON over HTTPS and recent hands-on Java and Spring Framework experience, including Spring Boot.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing object-oriented code.
  • Experience developing 12-Factor cloud-native services and messaging architectures using Kafka, MQ, or ESB.
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL.
  • Advanced understanding of design patterns, software algorithms, and coding techniques that improve testability and maintainability.
  • High proficiency with modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud migration and Azure, PCF, OpenShift, or AWS.
  • Preferred: experience with Splunk.
  • Preferred: experience with NDM, Connect:Direct, or IBM FileGateway file-transfer technologies.
