Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture for Zero Copy Connectors, including federated queries, pushdown, connection pooling, caching, authentication, and connector extensibility.
- Lead the technical direction of Remote Process Sync, including throughput, parallel processing, ordering, resiliency, and supportability.
- Architect Private Connectivity using reverse tunneling, mTLS, SNI-based routing, and stream multiplexing.
- Provide technical leadership across Data Fabric, Trino connectors, Stream Connect, ETL and Import Sets, analytics ingestion, and data quality.
- Lead architecture and design reviews, approve technical specifications, and make platform and protocol trade-offs.
- Write production code, prototype approaches, and review code across teams.
- Define performance and scalability strategies using benchmarks, capacity models, and end-to-end validation.
- Handle complex production and customer escalations, root-cause analysis, observability improvements, and runbooks.
- Partner with product, engineering, quality, support, security, and infrastructure teams on roadmaps and technical investments.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and build organizational technical depth.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience with large-scale distributed systems or data platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and data-platform fundamentals, including query processing, data integration and replication, change data capture, streaming or batch pipelines, concurrency, consistency, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with Kubernetes-based services, multi-tenant SaaS architecture, and data security and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture across multiple teams and deliver complex cross-functional platform initiatives.
- Strong coding ability in Java, C++, Go, Scala, or a similar systems language, with ongoing production coding and code-review experience.
- Experience diagnosing production performance and scalability issues using profiling, benchmarking, and observability data.
- Ability to influence engineers, managers, product teams, and partners around technical direction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with Trino internals, connector SPI, or federated and distributed SQL query engines.
- Preferred experience with Apache Iceberg, Apache Polaris, Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, CDC, cloud data warehouses, lakehouses, JDBC/REST access, OAuth, ServiceNow, IntegrationHub, or Flow Designer.
- Preferred experience owning enterprise customer escalations or high-severity incidents, plus familiarity with data quality, data observability, AI-assisted data transformation, open-source contributions, patents, or publications.
