Base Salary
$133k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize backend systems for real-time data processing and web services.
- Build and scale APIs, distributed systems, and backend infrastructure using Go and Node.js.
- Integrate backend components with other services while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Investigate problematic features through root-cause analysis, hypotheses, experiments, and data-driven improvements.
- Perform performance tuning, debugging, and testing of backend systems.
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation with advance scheduling and balanced coverage.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of backend development experience.
- Strong demonstrated experience with Go and/or Node.js, with willingness to learn.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems.
- Experience building and optimizing APIs, real-time data-processing systems, and microservices architectures.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with databases such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency with software engineering tools including Git, IDEs, shell scripting, and CI/CD.
- Proficient English communication skills for a global remote team.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Preferred qualifications include a BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience includes Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, TypeScript, Express, ClickHouse, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Datadog, Docker, Kubernetes, large open-source projects, Node.js and Go together, and Internet security and privacy mechanisms.
