Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and APIs for identity resolution, graph transparency, and integrations.
- Develop and optimize event-driven pipelines and workflows processing billions of signals.
- Deploy and operate cloud-native services on EKS and Kubernetes using Helm.
- Improve reliability, observability, scalability, and performance across services and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver end-to-end identity solutions.
- Mentor engineers and influence architecture and roadmap decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in backend and/or data engineering at scale.
- Strong skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with expertise in APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar technologies, Spark, Hive, Flink, and workflow schedulers such as Airflow or Luigi.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, preferably EKS, along with Helm and service-mesh deployment practices.
- Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, AWS, and columnar or NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Snowflake, HBase, Scylla, or Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of performance optimization and resilience patterns including caching, retries, and fault tolerance.
- Familiarity with automated testing practices for backend services.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to drive technical direction and mentor teams.
- Bonus experience with large-scale or multi-tenant distributed systems, real-time streaming frameworks such as Flink or Storm, open table formats such as Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta Lake, and security, compliance, or privacy for identity systems.
