Base Salary

$110k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for the document analysis platform.
  • Write maintainable, high-performance server-side code and data-processing pipelines.
  • Define API contracts, compositional API primitives, and service architecture decisions.
  • Build integrations with third-party services and internal ML systems.
  • Contribute to frontend features and components using the full-stack development process.
  • Optimize data-intensive backend operations and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Improve engineering practices, design patterns, CI/CD, developer experience, and production operations.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML researchers, legal subject-matter experts, market strategists, and engineering teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of professional full-stack development experience with a strong backend focus.
  • Proficiency with Node.js, Python, or Go and API design.
  • Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and hyperscalers such as AWS or GCP.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, web fundamentals, microservices, and message queues.
  • Experience with CI/CD, single-tenant architectures, data-processing pipelines, large-scale data systems, and backend performance optimization.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design and functional programming principles.
  • Familiarity with monorepo, jujutsu, mise, pprof, or similar technologies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and self-directed execution skills.
  • Interest in language and economics and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-leverage environment.
