Responsibilities

  • Build robust backend services and APIs for web and mobile application features.
  • Own the full development lifecycle of selected roadmap features, including design, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
  • Interact with internal users to provide support, gather feedback, and plan platform features.
  • Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.
  • Promote code quality and maintainability through Test-Driven Development and comprehensive automated tests.
  • Handle on-call incidents and participate in postmortem analysis and remediation.
  • Own release processes and contribute to distributed-system innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • At least 6 years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or other backend engineering frameworks.
  • At least 6 years of industry experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including database design and SQL proficiency.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • At least 3 years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCI, including ownership of the release process.
  • Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred exposure to cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Preferred experience implementing and managing RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS.
  • Understanding of frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is preferred.
  • Experience resolving distributed-system performance bottlenecks using profiling tools and load testing is preferred.
  • Ability to work in-office at the company headquarters in Downtown Dallas.
