Responsibilities
- Build robust backend services and APIs for web and mobile application features.
- Own the full development lifecycle of selected roadmap features, including design, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
- Interact with internal users to provide support, gather feedback, and plan platform features.
- Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.
- Promote code quality and maintainability through Test-Driven Development and comprehensive automated tests.
- Handle on-call incidents and participate in postmortem analysis and remediation.
- Own release processes and contribute to distributed-system innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 6 years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or other backend engineering frameworks.
- At least 6 years of industry experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including database design and SQL proficiency.
- Experience mentoring junior developers.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- At least 3 years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCI, including ownership of the release process.
- Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Preferred exposure to cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred experience implementing and managing RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS.
- Understanding of frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is preferred.
- Experience resolving distributed-system performance bottlenecks using profiling tools and load testing is preferred.
- Ability to work in-office at the company headquarters in Downtown Dallas.
