Responsibilities
- Define the roadmap and architecture for the Stations Software Platform based on technology and business needs.
- Write well-tested, readable, maintainable software and participate in code reviews.
- Lead projects from idea through successful execution and account for business context and failure modes.
- Design, build, and improve team-owned platform components and resolve ongoing incidents.
- Collaborate across teams to unblock work, communicate effectively, obtain buy-in, and share engineering knowledge through talks and brown bags.
Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
- Experience with object-oriented programming and distributed systems.
- Experience with Java and/or Python; familiarity with Scala is a plus.
- Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience writing clear, scalable design documentation and improving team-owned components.
- Track record of professional excellence.
- English is required for technical interviews and interactions with other offices; the Montréal working environment is bilingual.
