Responsibilities

  • Help define the technology and operational roadmap and architecture for the station software platform.
  • Write well-designed, tested, readable, and maintainable code.
  • Explain technical trade-offs and participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
  • Lead projects from idea through successful execution and account for business context and failure modes.
  • Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents.
  • Unblock and support involved teams, communicate effectively, and build alignment to achieve results.
  • Share knowledge through information sessions and technical workshops and promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in computer engineering, computer science, a related field, or relevant professional experience.
  • At least five years of industry software engineering experience.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Java and/or Python; Scala knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience writing clear and extensible design documents.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and improving internally built components.
  • Demonstrated record of professional excellence.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and functional French proficiency for work.
