Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and evolve the Currents data export system at scale.
- Develop and improve a Kafka-based event pipeline handling tens of billions of messages daily.
- Bring software projects from concept to production.
- Improve existing high-scale distributed systems and tackle challenges in critical data streaming infrastructure.
- Mentor engineers and lead by example in a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
- Experience building foundational systems at scale and spearheading software projects that significantly advanced organizational goals.
- Experience with Kafka at scale or comparable technology.
- Professional experience with distributed systems and/or microservices.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and improve colleagues.
- Strong communication, organizational, self-starting, and collaborative team skills.
- Java, Kotlin, Confluent, or React experience is preferred.

- Base salary for U.S. candidates is $140,400-$232,200 per year, with OTE of $156,000-$258,000 including bonus or commission; compensation figures are excluded from benefits classification.
