Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices and Kafka-based event-driven architectures for order-management workflows.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, executable stories, robust code modules, and production-ready solutions.
- Develop automated test suites using Cucumber, JUnit, and Mockito and build solutions using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Implement observability with Elasticsearch, Prometheus, and Grafana; monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability and performance.
- Automate and simplify development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
- Partner with product, architecture, and engineering teams to design solutions aligned with architecture standards and strategies.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, demos, onboarding materials, documentation, and engineering standards.
- Evaluate software tools and technologies and provide recommendations based on technical and business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement.
- At least 5 years of software development or related experience, including hands-on backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
- At least 4 years of experience in frontend technologies, middleware, databases, or DevOps, plus experience designing and supporting microservices, APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, automated unit, integration, or behavior-driven testing, source control, and modern software development practices.
- At least 4 years of experience implementing solutions through the software development life cycle using iterative Agile development.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cucumber, JUnit, Mockito, Bitbucket, Maven, or Gradle.
- Preferred: At least 4 years of experience with ITIL, defect or incident tracking software, web services, application and integration middleware, technical requirements, high-level design, technical documentation, business systems, or source-code control systems.
- Preferred: Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, frontend technologies, middleware, database technologies, DevOps, and observability technologies such as Elasticsearch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
