Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert for one or more DTCC applications and ensure designs satisfy functional requirements.
- Design and implement distributed backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and relational databases for trade-processing workflows.
- Modernize legacy UTC applications into cloud-ready, event-driven architectures and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to identify and deploy optimal hosting environments.
- Tune application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide testing and production support.
- Create applications and unit tests that comply with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate across squads and platform teams.
- Research technical solutions, apply appropriate software development methodologies, and support continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Incorporate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities and escalate issues appropriately.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle or similar relational databases.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Experience building distributed, event-driven, or cloud-native applications.
- Experience with Angular for frontend development.
- Ability to work across the full stack, primarily on backend and messaging-driven components while supporting UI work as needed.
