Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core storage system components, including data path, metadata, protocols, and management services.
- Design and implement scalable distributed storage features focused on performance and reliability.
- Debug and resolve complex system-level issues involving software, firmware, and hardware interactions.
- Collaborate with hardware, networking, performance, and support teams.
- Contribute to system architecture, design reviews, and feature planning.
- Follow HPE’s secure development lifecycle and coding standards.
- Support testing, validation, and release activities.
- Produce technical documentation and participate in code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 4–6 years of experience.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++; Python is a plus.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems and system-level development.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and parallel computing concepts.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and high-speed interconnects.
- Experience with storage technologies such as file systems, block storage, or object storage.
- Preferred qualifications include Lustre or HPC storage experience, performance tuning, large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native or microservices architectures, DevOps, automation tools, and hardware/software integration.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and collaborate across global engineering teams.
