Responsibilities
- Lead Java developers through technical guidance, mentoring, task allocation, and delivery support.
- Design, develop, test, review, and maintain Java enterprise applications, Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs, integrations, and database components.
- Drive architecture discussions, design-pattern adoption, coding standards, code reviews, security controls, maintainability, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and provide sustainable resolutions.
- Support CI/CD implementation, DevOps initiatives, automated testing, deployment improvements, and operational support.
- Plan resources, estimate work, monitor progress, support sprint execution, and manage delivery risks and commitments.
- Participate in hiring activities and technical interviews when required.
- Optimize infrastructure, compute, storage, and processing resource usage through appropriate application design.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional Java development experience, including at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or Lead Developer role.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education and professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise applications, microservices, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, cloud platforms, messaging technologies, databases, CI/CD, DevOps, and production issue resolution.
- Experience with Java 8, Java 11, Java 17, multithreading, concurrency, collections, design patterns, JVM performance tuning, and runtime optimization.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, API Gateway, Service Discovery, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Maven and/or Gradle, SonarQube, JUnit, and Mockito.
- Knowledge of secure application development, authentication, authorization, access controls, sensitive data management, and application security risks.
- Experience with code reviews, mentoring, technical discussions, estimation, sprint planning, technical documentation, and release support.
- Preferred experience includes Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance; event-driven architecture; cloud migration; distributed systems; high-volume transaction processing; and cloud-native application development.
- Relevant Java, cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps, security, or agile certifications and related technical training are preferred but not required.
