Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve reliable, scalable backend services and applications, including low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Deliver backend features across the full software development lifecycle by implementing designs, writing code, creating and executing tests, contributing to deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical partners to understand requirements and implement solutions integrating with multiple services and domains.
- Improve code quality, reliability, performance, observability, security, and operational excellence for supported services.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve product outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional software development experience delivering production backend services or applications.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented or functional design, low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience with service-oriented or microservice architectures, including consuming and implementing APIs and contributing to service reliability, scalability, and security.
- Exposure to operating backend services in production, including monitoring, on-call support, or improvements based on operational data and feedback.
- Preferred: experience designing distributed backend systems and data models handling significant traffic or data volume and working with versioned API contracts.
- Preferred: ownership of well-defined backend components, sound implementation tradeoffs, and alignment with architectural and domain standards.
- Preferred: experience with observability, automation, service performance, resilience, cost efficiency, metrics, experimentation, analytics, and AI-driven tools or workflows.
