Base Salary
$165k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain production-grade Kubernetes platforms across AKS, EKS, GKE, K3s, microk8s, cloud, and on-premises environments.
- Own cluster provisioning, upgrades, node-pool management, and disaster recovery.
- Develop automation with Helm, ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, and CloudFormation for worker-node provisioning and marketplace publishing.
- Lead container-hardening initiatives and systematically reduce CVEs across distributed components.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with zero-downtime deployments, automated rollbacks, auditability, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Design monitoring, alerting, diagnostics, and self-healing capabilities using Datadog, Loki, and Promtail.
- Optimize platform performance, cost growth, reliability, security, and high-throughput scaling across thousands of tenant environments.
- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, production remediation, on-call participation, and systemic reliability improvements.
- Mentor engineers and drive DevOps and infrastructure engineering best practices across teams.
- Collaborate with product security, engineering squads, product managers, and customer-facing teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Expert knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, Linux, Docker, and networking.
- Strong working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP, with specific depth in at least one cloud platform.
- Proficiency in Go and/or Python plus Bash/Shell scripting for infrastructure automation and integrations.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and distributed messaging systems such as Apache Kafka and NATS.
- Experience with security scanning, container image hardening, and vulnerability remediation in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments and handling customer escalations.
- Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum enterprise software development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and technical leadership skills.
- Experience with Azure Marketplace, AWS Marketplace, or GCP Marketplace publishing is preferred.
- Experience with Chainguard or other minimal hardened container distributions, on-premises deployments, K3s, microk8s, air-gapped environments, Temporal, MLOps, service meshes, Kubernetes operators, or AI-assisted operations is preferred.
