Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements into user-centered interface solutions in collaboration with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and visually polished front-end applications.
  • Create clickable Figma prototypes showing user flows, interface states, and micro-interactions.
  • Create, scale, document, and maintain reusable component libraries, design systems, and style guides.
  • Develop wireframes, typography and color systems, responsive layouts, and grid systems for mobile, tablet, and desktop interfaces.
  • Test front-end code and designs for functionality, usability, accessibility, browser compatibility, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot front-end issues, document implementation details, and improve the user experience.
  • Use Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools responsibly under data governance, security, and ethical-use standards.
  • Collaborate with backend developers on application architecture and API integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • 3–5 years of full stack software development experience focused on front-end development, UI engineering, or digital product design.
  • Proficiency with Angular and modern JavaScript or TypeScript development.
  • Strong experience with HTML, CSS, responsive design, and component-based front-end architecture.
  • Proficiency with Figma for wireframing, interactive prototyping, component libraries, and design handoff.
  • Hands-on experience using Claude Code in a front-end development workflow.
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems, reusable UI components, and style guides.
  • Knowledge of typography, color theory, accessible contrast, layout, and grid systems.
  • Experience applying WCAG accessibility standards and testing interfaces with assistive technologies.
  • Experience with version control systems and collaborative code review practices.
  • Familiarity with backend application architectures and API integrations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and communicate design and implementation decisions.
  • Preferred: experience with Microsoft Azure and familiarity with Playwright.

  • Full-time permanent position with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Richmond, Virginia office.
  • Candidates within approximately 50–60 miles of Richmond who can meet the onsite schedule receive first consideration.
