Responsibilities
- Lead technical processes, application architecture, and end-to-end designs that address reliability, scalability, performance, privacy, security, maintainability, and data integrity.
- Develop, deploy, support, tune, and enhance backend software applications and modular codebases.
- Define scalability and performance criteria, verify performance and security test plans, and resolve complex production incidents.
- Research and evaluate technologies, estimate project costs, and develop solutions that balance cost, delivery, and business requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, QA, DevOps, product management, project management, architects, business partners, and end users.
- Manage and mentor engineers across multiple geographies and drive code reviews, agile development practices, and technical excellence.
- Implement technology best practices, monitor controls, mitigate risks, and support technology platform and business solution presentations.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of related experience.
- 8+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with message broker platforms such as Kafka, REST APIs, and Kubernetes-based container platforms.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design patterns and programming techniques.
- Familiarity with Splunk, Maven, Jenkins, Dynatrace, Docker, build tools, observability tools, and deployment tools.
- Experience with large modular codebases, monorepos, and packaging and deploying backend applications.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production incidents.
- Proficient communication skills and experience managing and mentoring engineers across multiple geographies.
- ISO 20022 payments clearing and settlement expertise is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
