Base Salary
$60k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, review, and guide Java-based enterprise services and integrations.
- Architect scalable, reliable, maintainable, and high-availability enterprise applications.
- Translate business requirements into solution architectures, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
- Define architecture standards, patterns, best practices, and integration approaches.
- Design RESTful API, messaging, event-driven, and data-synchronization integrations.
- Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and third-party components and document trade-offs.
- Ensure security, scalability, observability, resilience, and disaster recovery requirements are met.
- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE on deployment architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and operational readiness.
- Lead architecture and design reviews, mentor engineers, and provide technical guidance through post-release support.
- Identify technical risks and dependencies, propose mitigations, and drive resolution with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Java and the JVM ecosystem, including Spring and Spring Boot, with performance tuning and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience developing and supporting large enterprise applications with high availability and complex integrations.
- Experience creating solution diagrams, interface contracts, sequence diagrams, and design documentation.
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts including concurrency, caching, eventual consistency, and resiliency patterns.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Knowledge of document-based databases such as MongoDB and Couchbase, including data modeling and query patterns.
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to write clean, documented, and tested code and take features through completion.
- Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures is preferred.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, messaging, event-driven design, identity and access management, application security, threat modeling, and observability is preferred.
- Experience with Office 365, Okta, or other single sign-on identity providers is preferred.
