Responsibilities

  • Analyze platform and infrastructure requirements, capacity needs, scalability constraints, and functional designs.
  • Define cloud reference architectures, landing zones, multi-account strategies, and multi-region strategies.
  • Design and build internal developer platforms, golden paths, self-service infrastructure, and reusable infrastructure modules.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code, platform services, automation, integrations, and infrastructure and platform tests.
  • Lead CI/CD, GitOps, DevSecOps, policy-as-code, automated compliance, software supply-chain, and progressive-delivery practices.
  • Define and operationalize SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, observability, on-call practices, incident management, and major-incident response.
  • Drive platform performance, reliability, capacity planning, resilience testing, toil reduction, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture influence, mentoring, status reporting, release planning, LOE estimates, and delivery planning across teams.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant cloud platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE experience.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud provider among AWS, Azure, or GCP, with working knowledge of a second preferred.
  • Strong hands-on Terraform and Terragrunt experience; AWS CloudFormation experience is required, while Pulumi or Bicep/ARM is a plus.
  • Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, GKE, and Helm.
  • Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD, and Spinnaker.
  • Experience with SAST/DAST, container and dependency scanning, secrets detection, OPA policy-as-code, SBOMs, and artifact signing.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Go for tooling and automation, plus Bash scripting experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking, including VPC, load balancing, DNS, CDN, ingress/egress design, and service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
  • Experience with IAM, secrets management, least privilege, compliance, observability, SLI/SLO/SLA practices, incident management, on-call leadership, and FinOps.
  • Proven technical leadership and architectural influence across multiple teams, along with communication, mentoring, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud experience, internal developer platform experience such as Backstage, Kafka, Redis, managed data services, regulatory exposure, relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications, and open-source infrastructure contributions.
