Responsibilities
- Translate institutional goals and business requirements into functional solution designs, including capabilities, scope, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Lead pre-sales discovery workshops, RFP responses, solution presentations, and demonstrations in partnership with Sales.
- Assess customer requirements against Ellucian Student ecosystem capabilities, identify functional gaps, and recommend practical alternatives.
- Use Banner and/or Colleague, SIS/ERP processes, and Ellucian platform knowledge to create customer-facing solution documentation and deliverables.
- Define functional requirements for SaaS workflows, user experiences, extensions, and integrations while partnering with technical architects on feasibility.
- Lead complex cross-functional solution workstreams and mentor less-experienced architects through transition into implementation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience with Ellucian functional capabilities, including 4+ years in a senior or principal consulting role.
- Experience in solutions architecture, pre-sales, or a comparable customer-facing functional role, with deep Banner and/or Colleague experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of higher-education institutional processes and the Ellucian Student ecosystem.
- Demonstrated success leading discovery sessions, functional workshops, executive briefings, and solution design presentations.
- Ability to analyze complex requirements, functional dependencies, trade-offs, product capabilities, and implementation considerations.
- Working understanding of enterprise SaaS platforms, integrations, APIs, extensions, identity and access considerations, and data flows.
- Familiarity with AI applications in higher education and AI-assisted solution-design tools, including security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI considerations.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and align diverse teams.
- Experience with institutional transformation, cross-product solution design, or complex multi-system environments involving Ellucian and third-party applications is a bonus.
