Senior Diagnostic Platform Software Engineer
Astera LabsResponsibilities
- Design, implement, and test production-grade diagnostics for high-speed digital boards and ASICs to support hardware validation.
- Design, implement, and test manufacturing software for mass production validation of digital boards.
- Bring up newly manufactured boards and isolate and analyze the root causes of failures.
- Support new platform software and hardware features.
- Coordinate bring-up schedules and feature delivery with the hardware engineering team.
- Participate in design discussions, design reviews, and project management while working independently, collaborating with teams, and mentoring junior members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in diagnostics, hardware bring-up, testing, or manufacturing automation.
- Knowledge of modern software development practices.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with data center-scale electronic equipment bring-up, diagnostics, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and layouts and experience with system debugging are preferred.
- Embedded programming experience and knowledge of Linux/Unix operating system internals are preferred.
- Knowledge of interconnect buses and interfaces, including PCIe, I2C, XAUI, 10G Ethernet drivers, FPGA, switch chips, SSL offload, and TCAM programming, is preferred.
- Experience with DDR5 is preferred.
