Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to named strategic accounts and build relationships with data, AI/ML, and platform engineering leaders.
- Partner with customer data science, machine learning, and AI platform teams to design GenAI and ML architectures and turn AI initiatives into production systems.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership with sales teams to demonstrate how Databricks addresses enterprise data and AI needs.
- Consult on Lakehouse architectures and implement proofs of concept across data engineering, data warehousing, machine learning, and GenAI.
- Validate integrations with cloud services, in-house tools, and third-party applications.
- Develop account strategies and a book of business with sales teams to address customer and prospect needs.
- Collaborate across regions with Solutions Architects and account teams to provide consistent architectural guidance.
- Work with product and engineering teams to help advance the Databricks roadmap.
- Promote Databricks-inspired open-source projects and recruit contributors within the developer community.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with big data and AI technologies, including Apache Spark, data engineering, data science, and modern AI/ML workloads.
- Strong hands-on architecture skills, including the ability to whiteboard, design, and personally build end-to-end solutions.
- Experience working with large enterprise or Fortune 500 customers; global account experience across multiple geographies is strongly preferred.
- Experience with digital-native or SaaS enterprises with mature data and AI practices is a strong plus.
- Strong consulting and customer-facing experience with external clients across multiple industries.
- Coding experience in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
- Experience building distributed data systems at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Databricks Certification is a nice-to-have qualification.
- Availability to travel to customers regionally and occasionally internationally.
