Responsibilities
- Drive adoption and governance of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including Claude, GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted code review, refactoring, test acceleration, and troubleshooting.
- Establish validation standards for AI-generated outputs, including correctness, performance, security, peer review, automated testing, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Champion secure, resilient, and well-architected application health standards across the engineering organization.
- Lead technical lifecycle management, including modernization, deprecated component remediation, dependency hygiene, vulnerability reduction, and technical debt reduction.
- Partner with architecture and security teams to embed secure-by-design principles and compliance expectations into development workflows.
- Improve SDLC and technical lifecycle management toolchain automation, release readiness, traceability, auditability, and reduction of manual toil.
- Mentor and coach engineers on application health, responsible AI-assisted development, secure development, and technical modernization.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and influence engineering and non-engineering stakeholders across teams.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Demonstrated expertise building and maintaining secure, production-grade applications, including vulnerability management, dependency hygiene, and technical debt reduction.
- Hands-on experience with application modernization, deprecated component remediation, technical lifecycle management, and proactive software portfolio risk identification.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency expectations, and compliant usage controls.
- Proficiency in modern software engineering practices, CI/CD pipeline automation, automated testing strategies, secure coding standards, and peer review.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Preferred experience with agentic AI coding platforms such as Claude and GitHub Copilot in production engineering environments.
- Preferred familiarity with application health frameworks, static analysis tooling, software composition analysis, and vulnerability or lifecycle management platforms.
- Preferred experience defining engineering standards, architectural patterns, developer experience initiatives, cloud-native applications, infrastructure-as-code, and coaching engineers.
