Responsibilities
- Define and document the architecture for a scalable, secure, and resilient Java Spring Boot microservices application.
- Design relational database architectures supporting financial transactions, data integrity, scalability, and performance.
- Oversee ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, and integration across internal and external systems.
- Design secure, performant, and reliable APIs for account management, transaction processing, and customer communication.
- Establish Docker and Kubernetes containerization strategies for portable deployment across major cloud providers.
- Create architectural standards and guidelines for microservices development, integration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with product engineering and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop strategies for high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, automated monitoring, and distributed-system performance.
- Ensure API and data handling comply with relevant regulations and standards, including PCI DSS and GDPR.
- Evaluate technology stacks, frameworks, and tools; mentor development teams; and continuously improve the application architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in enterprise architecture, including large-scale Java Spring Boot microservices.
- Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Deep understanding of API design, RESTful services, and secure integrations.
- Extensive experience with database design, optimization, and management using SQL or NoSQL.
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of security compliance and data privacy for financial applications.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization in distributed systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and business-to-technical translation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Preferred cloud architecture certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Architect.
- Preferred experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Preferred background in roadside tolling, fintech, or financial services.
- Preferred expertise with API gateways, service mesh, and cloud-native security solutions.
