Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services, data pipelines, and integration endpoints that operate reliably at high volume.
- Gather requirements, write design documents, and lead technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Own the full software development lifecycle from product requirements and architecture through development, quality assurance, and maintenance.
- Build highly available systems with monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability as a first-class concern.
- Communicate progress to product leads, engineering managers, and other stakeholders.
- Introduce technologies and AI tools that improve engineering workflows and team productivity.
- Navigate ambiguity, remove project roadblocks, and maintain delivery momentum.
- Participate effectively in a global engineering team and provide and receive technical and behavioral feedback.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in backend development, including 1–2 years in senior positions, developing large-scale applications.
- Experience developing distributed web applications at scale.
- Ability to write comprehensible, well-structured, and highly performant code.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL database modeling and designing RESTful services.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and other computer science fundamentals.
- Proven experience using AI tools for code generation, debugging, and productivity optimization, with willingness to stay current with emerging AI technologies.
- Experience in fast-scaling startups or high-velocity environments.
- Preferred qualifications include a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field, plus experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, Redis, Ruby on Rails, microservices, or machine learning.
