Responsibilities
- Provide subject-matter expertise in lifecycle management, administration, maintenance, deployment, patching, securing, and troubleshooting of infrastructure systems.
- Respond to complex infrastructure events and incidents, provide system triage and capacity-planning expertise, and participate in production on-call emergency response.
- Develop and integrate infrastructure tools, configuration-management solutions, automation, orchestration, and scalable maintenance approaches.
- Create proactive maintenance plans and implementation plans to keep technology platforms current.
- Use observability, resource-management, and cost-management platforms to identify performance and cost-optimization opportunities.
- Establish full lifecycle management for infrastructure supporting new and existing enterprise tools.
- Document approaches, share knowledge, coach peers and stakeholders, and communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field is preferred; equivalent work experience is considered.
- At least 4 years of experience in systems and infrastructure administration with AWS, Linux, and Python.
- Experience deploying, managing, and administering AWS infrastructure, enterprise storage and backup systems, replication solutions, virtualization platforms, and observability platforms.
- Experience administering, automating, and orchestrating large-scale Linux environments with configuration-management tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Proficiency with Bash, Python, or AWS CLI scripting.
- Understanding of security best practices and access controls for system and platform deployment and administration.
- Functional knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience with AWS cloud administration and Docker/Fargate containerization is a plus.
- Ability to define non-functional requirements, translate them into technical requirements, and develop solution definitions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, intellectual curiosity, continual-improvement mindset, and ability to follow procedures during incidents and high-pressure production events.
